We will all pay for this bureaucratic invention. "I don't see any chance of stopping it"

- The Achilles heel of our energy system is the lack of energy storage facilities, without which we will not achieve effective energy transformation.
- - Revenues from the EU ETS2 are already included in next year's budget, so I do not see any possibility of abandoning this system, contrary to what we hear from the political scene in Poland - says Wojciech Dąbrowski.
- From 2027, the existing EU ETS2 system will be extended to new sectors, including construction and transport, which in practice means that virtually every Pole will be charged an additional tax.
- Security is an undisputed priority today, hence the initiative to establish the SET Foundation, which brings together a wide group of experts cooperating in order to build multi-level security in Poland - says Wojciech Dąbrowski, president of the foundation.
- Poland should strengthen its security, the current geopolitical situation determines this. The SET Foundation aims to initiate discussions and create solutions to strengthen the Polish economy and security - says WNP Wojciech Dąbrowski.
Energy security not at risk, but lack of energy storage is a problemIn the opinion of the former president of Polska Grupa Energetyczna, further development of diversified energy based on renewable sources requires an extensive network of energy storage facilities.
- I believe that Poland is currently energy secure, but we still need to invest. We have relatively well-diversified energy sources, but the Achilles heel of our energy system is the lack of energy storage . We should introduce a broad policy of developing energy storage systems without unnecessary delay. Without this, we will not achieve effective transformation. Energy storage is necessary for building the system, but it is being neglected - warns the president of the SET Foundation.
Whoever is talking about blocking the ETS2 system is unfortunately not telling the truthWe also asked Wojciech Dąbrowski about the EU ETS2 system. Let us recall that the EU ETS2 system, which is planned to enter into force in 2027, aims to extend the existing emissions trading system to new sectors, including construction and road transport .
New burdens will also apply to households, which will pay additional fees in their bills for refueling cars or heating. In practice, this means imposing an additional climate tax on virtually every Pole. Bills for gas, coal, petrol and diesel will increase, because suppliers will pass on the costs of emission fees to consumers .
- The EU ETS2 system is undoubtedly also a problem . Politicians active on the Polish scene indicate that there are currently talks in the EU about postponing it or even suspending the introduction of this system. However, on the other hand, the European Union has already budgeted the revenues from the EU ETS2 as revenue for 2026. Therefore , the revenues from the EU ETS2 are already included in next year's budget. I would like for myself and our economy that these changes do not come into force, but they are de facto approved. Therefore, I do not see the possibility of moving away from this system, contrary to what we hear from the political scene in Poland - indicates the president of the SET Foundation.
At the same time, he admits that we will feel the negative effects of introducing this system.
- Let's remember that EU ETS2 is another tax on emissions, we will pay it in the price of petrol and gas heating bills. This will negatively affect the competitiveness of our economy - he concluded.
